It’s never too late – Daisy Aged 84
How my life changed since I gave my life to the Lord. It first started when I met Pat Allen in July. I was just getting over an operation when I had a visitor from Earls Hall Baptist Church it was Pat. Thought it was very kind as I didn’t go to the church on Sundays. I go to Friends and Neighbours on Thursday. I’ve been going since November 1978. Pat is a very nice lady. When Pat came to see me she took me for a ride along the sea front we had a coffee and we got to know each other. We are now very good friends. I am going out a lot more. I don’t feel so lonely. I have joined the Fellowship Hour and made a lot of new friends.
I went on an Alpha course at the Church, I found it very interesting. I was given a little red book called “Why Jesus” by Nicky Gumbel he tells how he became a Christian. In the book was a prayer you could say if you would like to have a relationship with God. I said that prayer and from that day I became a different person in many ways. I have become a much happier person. I have been going to the church every Sunday morning since I first went on the 5th of August. I do enjoy going the people are so nice and friendly they make you so welcome. I was born in London. I went to a Wesleyan Methodist Sunday school as a child then I went to the evening service for a few years till I moved down here at Southend in 1968. I hadn’t been very often till I started to go in August at Earls Hall Baptist Church. I would say to any one that lives on their own and are lonely why not come along to Earls Hall Baptist Church.
