Jesus at the centre of who we are and what we do
It has been our privilege to take the time to listen to God over the past few years. Listening is a practice that is all too easy to forget in the rush and habit of church life. Our growing desire is that we be a church that ‘hears what the Spirit is saying to us’. And so we spent time as a leadership over the first 6 months of 2022 reflecting, questioning, praying and listening to each other and God for what he was saying. From this we felt strongly that we had to put the focus of our lives and the life of the church on Jesus. And it is from this that our clear desire formed: Jesus at the centre of who we are and what we do.
This is a focus that then allows all other aspects of church life to grow rightly, with Jesus at their centre. As a leadership team we identified 5 areas of growth. These areas all exist, and all have the potential for further growth.
- Fellowship and Discipleship
- Advancing Kingdom Ministries
- Intentional Community Engagement
- Teaching – with regular rhythm of learning & responding
- Helping run the Church, admin, legal, and operation
But we also know that without prayer none of these areas will grow as they should. And so, rather than using the above list, we shaped them into a flower. A way for us to see that we can grow as a church, grow up in faith in our amazing saviour and Lord. There is a lot to do in our church life. But that ‘doing’ only happens well when we know who we are in Jesus.
We want to grow up in faith, will you join us?
